AC Red

This is one of the new ones on my list this year and I would enjoy hearing the comments of anyone who has grown it. I have read the blurb in the yearbook but that is all I know about it.

I got AC Red from Dorothy Noble, a Pennsylvania seed saver and gardener I met when I lived there (she also sent me Big Yellow in the same letter). I grew it twice (the first year it went in late and I only got a few fruit). It is a good variety that is likely better than I remember (it came in with so many other varieties I was trying). Tall, vigorous potato leaf plant, good yield of large oblate sweet pink fruit. Of course, there is no shortage of good flavored large fruited pink potato leaf varieties!

Thanks Craig. I was interested when I read the blurb in the yearbook and saw that it was once listed by UT DR S. I have never met the man but assume he grew it somewhere here in central Utah. I hope it does well in this climate.
