pruning cucumbder

Hi,
I have a cucumber in my greenhouse in a 30l container.
How do I prune a single stem cucumber for the best/biggest production?

I prune to single stem and get plenty of cucumbers. I see you have string trellis, without pruning, I am not sure how you would manage the plants.

So I get enough cucumber from a single stem?
At the bottom there is growing a side shoot.
Can I grow the cucumber as double stem?

Double is fine as well.

You can also grow short side stems, sometimes I let them grow another stem, but pinch it before the second cucumber is set.

For me it is more about space mamagement, but yields are fine as.well.

Which cucumber is this?
Most leaf axils have only one growing cucumber, others have several, like in the picture.

I use tomato clips and prune them.
I had a touch of Powdery Mildew, I used the milk spray I had read about. It worked better than I expected. I first saw the PM three weeks ago, the plants seem to like the milk. Of course I do fertilize them.

Those are two gallon. They work great if you water 3-4 times a day.

Do you lower them like the tomatoes?
I use a vine clip that clips on the top wire and provides a radiused groove for the vine to climb up over the wire and back down without kinking.
Melons get long enough to need them, cucumbers not so much.

AKMark - Are you feeding them the same masterblend formula as your tomatoes?

What variety? I assume parthenocarpic.

I had all intention of pruning this last batch - 3 seeds - 2 in EB, 1 in RP but again let them go beasty.

I am feeding them the same mixes but slightly weaker. The variety is Tasty Jade, they are tasty too, they even smell like cucumber

Thanks Mark - I found Tasty Jade on Johnny's site and had no idea there were so many parthenocarpic varities.

Nice AKMark. Thanks for the tips, too. I just started my first house with twine and clips and they are just starting their new lateral growth. I was actually going to ask what to do next and you already filled in the blank.
