I admit I'm totally confused about this variety/ When I do a Google search I see it being referrred to as a red, a black, a bicolor and for those interested here's the Google search;
https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q...te+rose+tomato Terry of the Secret Seed Cartel was the first to offer it several years ago and she calls it a bicolor, OK, I see pink on the inside, typical of reds, but no secondary color on the exterior, as in bi, which at least for me defines bicolor with respect to tomatoes : http://www.secret-seedcartel.com/shop-tomatoes.asp I've had trouble trying to link to the page where she describes and pictures it so I doubt the above link worked any better, in which case just click on the above link to her site, click on tomatoes and I think it's on page 4. Grosse ( large) Verte ( green) Rose ( obviously not the exterior color but could refer to Madame Rose from whom Terry got the seeds) So please Grosse Verte Rose, tell me who you are. And the above reminded me of a song titled Tell Me Who You Are, I looked at the U Tube and decided not to link to it. Carolyn

It should be a large pink variety with green shoulders. Thanks to kath I'm growing it this year and had a first try just today - I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! It's a variety that will come back next year.

What grown in my garden is your typical dark tomato similar to secretseed cartel picture posted in the link by Carolyn.
Seems to on mid season side, got some earlier and more now. I have found it very tasty. |
