2015 Tomatoes and Garden
I enjoy everyone's garden photos, so I'll post more of mine again this year.
The lettuce, spinach, onions, peas, radishes broccoli, and kale are planted out/emerged. The peppers moved out to the cold frame last Sunday and the tomatoes made the venture out today. The coming week looks to have a lot of sunshine and warmth, get those soil temps up! |

The seedlings are growing like mad and likely will get planted out this weekend or early next week.

And the ones that got put into buckets early are in a makeshift frost protector tonight. A chance of frost with temps in the mid 30s. Skies are clearing winds are diminishing and dewpoints are in the low-mid 30s. Too close to feel safe. Should be the last time we have threat of frost this spring.

Those peppers look healthy and happy. The pre/post mulch pics are great. Look forward to their growth.

Thanks. The peppers are mulched too. They were a little root bound. I started them early this year and topped some. In hindsight I should have potted up once more or started a bit later. But they seem healthy and happy even a couple flowers.

Thanks for the kind words everyone.
While the tomatoes and peppers are just planted out and we've got a long way to go on those, we got our first lettuce and spinach harvest of the year--33oz! Should make for a couple big salad meals for all of us. And the radishes our son grew in his barrel are fantastic. Even at that size, tender and just a bit of radish zip. The bucket/colander combo is something I got last year and love it. Great for harvesting greens and washing outside. |
