Earthtainer spring time startup question
Hello all,
This is my first post to the forum. Last spring, I built four Earthtainers and planted tomatoes, peppers, cantaloupe, and cucumbers. My plants did well enough last year that I want to do it again this year. To get my boxes ready for spring, the Earthtainer construction guide says to recharge the boxes with 1 cubic foot of new combo mix. That's about one third the total volume of the box. So, am I supposed to scoop out one third of the old stuff and throw it away? It seems like quite a waste. Thanks. |

Hi Chuck,
You can put it in your garden beds or compost pile. Jeff |

Yes, one cubic foot removed (and used elsewhere) is a small price to pay for a healthy crop this new year.
