Purple Boy Hybrid Tomato
I recently posted a thread about the best Black tomatoes for market and got some great replies. One that was not mentioned is, I believe, a new one called Purple Boy Hybrid.
The pictures look good and the descriptions sound good. Does anyone have first hand experience or know much about the Purple Boy Hybrid? https://parkseed.com/tomato-purple-b...hoCPMoQAvD_BwE

The comparison is made to Cherokee Purple but the flavor description does not mimic CP. A dark tomato with a "tang" does not compute, since most if not all blacks have good, sweet flavor.

I was looking after a neighbor's garden last summer and she had a good-tasting tomato that, once I figured out which label went with it, was a Purple Boy. It was good enough that I actually bought seeds this year and am trying it out myself!

Habitat Gardener, how would you compare its color, shape (smooth or ribbed and gnarled), size, and taste to Cherokee Purple?

TomatoDon, I didn’t taste them side by side, so I can’t compare the taste. Purple Boy was smooth and round, a uniform dark purple. iirc, PB was firmer and less juicy than CP.
