My Tomato Trial

Here are some of my tomatoes from last summer:

Some notes: Granadero was the best Roma type tomato I've ever tried, bar none. 5000lbs of tomatoes in 220ft of row, Pitenza did fairly well, McDreamy was so-so tending to abort in heat, Adoration was stellar - better than Campari in my opinion - sweeter and slightly less acidic, and the bears can attest to that - they devoured the latter part of the crop!

lakelady - if you were one of those bears, you would now be snuggled down in your den. I suspect those plants are long gone!

Nice photos, gg. Nice to have so much room to work with - where in this great land are you located? Short or long season area?

WOW I think that's was really successful tomato trial. Its seem disease free and abundant harvest.

Despite being expensive, I find everything I have tried from Enza Zaden and Deruiter is first class in disease resistance.

Ah, that explains it! I lived in Penticton for 3 years - 40 years ago. Just as some of the first vineyards were gearing up. I miss the heat units, but not the tourists!

I never save seeds. Too much risk of seed borne viruses.
