sunburned blackberries? or what?

Between yesterday and today, a bunch of my blackberries have developed pale whitish patches. Some of them are almost ripe, and others are ripe. They're in the sunniest part of the arbor, so I was wondering if it could possibly be sunburn, or if it's an insect or disease. Are they still edible?

Is it like a fungus or mold?
Check into gray mold and see if it looks like your berries.

Definitely sunburn. The form of the drupelets is the same -- it looks like a bunch of albino druplets. I googled after I posted here, and apparently sunburned blackberries are a problem for blackberry farmers! The only ones affected are the ones that face due south and get the most sun all day. I added some shading yesterday and have seen no new sunburn.

Oh, and then someone at the com. garden claimed that her blackberries in the shade were getting the same thing, and she thought it was from "moths."
