Red fleshed watermelons that grow well in Pennsylvania

I live in Southwestern Pennsylvania and I'm looking for suggestions of red fleshed watermelon varieties that grow well in this area.

I want to give a few a try this season.

I'm in the southeast end of the state and have had the best luck with Crimson Sweet, Dark Star and Sweet Dakota Rose- all with a pink/red hue. I can send you seeds for Sweet Dakota Rose if you want to give it a try.

Good to see others from PA. I will probably watch what you all say as I'm very new at this plus it's nice to get advice from those in the same zone/area. I've been kicking around growing watermelon. Just trying to not "bite off more than I can chew" my first year.

Another welcome from the SE corner of the state! Sounds like a worthwhile project! Sometimes you just have to dive into the deep end of the pool.

We grow crimson sweet and sangria, jade star and sugar baby. We live close to the akron Ohio area and I would think that is close enough to be very similar in growing conditions. Those are not an entire list of successful varieties I am sure, but they have been consistent for us.
