Default entire property wiped out by flood, lost everything

well, thanks to mother nature, our entire 1 acre garden (100 tomato plants included) is under about 6 ft of rushing water!

If any of you that are growing out my "Emma" tomato have any luck I would like some seeds this fall.

Thank you very much!

Don

Don, really sorry to hear that. No problem on the Emma seed. I planted out Emma on 3 May. Ami

thanks all.. house is on a hill so it could be worse, but we manage our gardens with shovels and wheelbarrows!!!
No tractors or anything, and it just sucks to see that work wash away!

The weather this year hasn't been getting the attention it did last year, but in certain areas it seems as bad if not worse than last year.

So far where I am things aren't critical YET. But we have had more rain than we need this spring and general farm planting is way behind. Where Hubby grew up and his brother still farms in N Indiana, there is a very real possibility they won't be able to plant this year as it's so wet and they are so behind.

I'm sorry to hear you got wiped out right now. IF things recede and you think you can re-plant later, give me a PM. I have lots of plants and I usually have plenty of stuff I could send you to help out a bit. I don't have Emma, but I do have some Sun Sugars.

Don, sorry to hear about your problems with the flooding and losing your crops.

Too much water is hard to imagine in a drought, but can be just as bad as too little. As I write this we're experiencing one hum-dinger of a thunderbanger that woke me up and is keeping me awake. We've already had at least one other thunderstorm this week and are supposed to have another this weekend, so would imagine the farmers around here are going to be feeling more than a little soggy. Last frost still is about a week away, so many are not doing plant outs yet anyway, but all this rain is going to put allot of people behind. But we're not in the same category of which your you're experiencing.

Sorry, I don't have any Emma seed to send you.

Don,

Sorry to hear all your hardwork has been washed away. If you're even still interested in growing this year, have you given thought to container gardening? If I had seedlings to offer I'd send them, but unfortunately I didn't have alot of room under my shoplights to start extras this year. Perhaps you can take Carol up on her generous offer. And I'm sure if others have spares they'll be happy to share.

I do have a few 5-gallon growbags I could send you if you need containers. They seem to work fine for many folks even those who grow tons of plants. I'll be happy to send them if you want some. Just shoot me a PM if you do.

Good luck! Maybe things wont turn out as bad as it seems now if you're willing to take people up on their offer for seedings. Although I certainly do understand the disappointment.

Jeff

Hi Don, I am growing what came to me as "Emma Pink"...... would that be the same?? I can certainly share seeds this fall if so. I even have some extra plants if possible to get them to you and your garden recovers soon. It just sounds heartbreaking... Patty

Don, I don't have Emma seeds but could send other seeds to you if you wanted them for use next year if you don't have lots of seeds yourself saved from previous years and was depending on growing out new stock from the tomatoes that got destroyed by the flooding.

I've lost plants before from flooding, but not on the scale that you have.

I'm so very sorry, I really am.

Just PM me if there's any way I can help with seeds.

Don...I'm not too far from you. I've got several Cherokee Purple, a few Juila Child, and a couple of KBX plants I'll give you if you want them. I also have some bell and jalapeno pepper plants. Just let me know and I can deliver them or meet you somewhere.
