Orange 1, anybody grown this or have info

Got this as a gift for purchasing some seed from a place I cant remember. Anybody grow this one, and if so what is your opinion on it? Thanks.

I thought they had a really good, unique flavor when I grew it a few years ago. It was early and productive, about 4-5 ounces average. The stink bugs liked it better than any other, and it did have an annoying habit of dropping fruit when ripe.

But, I am growing it again this year.

I grew it in a container several years ago....Nice steady production of 3-4 oz fruit...Beautiful interior color, but I did not care for the flavor...kind of melon like...I was in the minority though, everyone who tasted it that summer loved it...

Damon, Andrey was the person who was initially distributing seeds for this variety. others have described it so I'll just give some background info.

Bred by the Belarusian Rsearch Institute and Andrey sent me seeds and I think Victory Seeds and Amishland also listed it early on.

I offered it here in several of my annual seed offers.

Very prolific, deep orange, 4-6 oz, RL, very good, but not great taste, as grown by me and I didn't check the SSE listings to see what others said about taste.

Oh ya I remember now, Amishland is where I got these seeds as a bonus. Back 2007 I believe.

I got a few seeds in a trade this winter. Of all the varieties I got, Orange-1 is the only total failure so far.

I only got 1 seedling and it perished shortly after field planting due to the dry weather. We did water it several times, but it just didn't make it.

The "melon" flavor intreges me as I like tomatoes with more of a sweet fruity taste. I'll probably be looking for more seed for next year.
