The Muddy Bucket Farm 2010
Finally getting some plants in the ground. Containers will be last and very few this year. However, I am really enjoying this labor of love so far. I have gained a new respect for those who grow things in the ground.
My garden, which the first "in-the-ground" for me where I've done all the work, is going well so far. The ground had not been tilled in more than a dozen years and has resisted my efforts somewhat. I have had Colorado Potato Beetles and now I fighting Bean Leaf Beetles. Garden Safe spray seems to do a pretty quick job on them. I still have 2 or 3 rows to plant, but here's a couple of pictures taken this morning. Ted

Well Ted all you need now is a Hot Tub in the Middle and you can enjoy the fruits of your labor while confusing your neighbors as to what are you doing. Raybo can attest to the soothing benefits of the Hot Tub and a cold one.
Cheers! George |

But Ted, I would trade locations with you in a heartbeat - - what a beautiful pastoral scene you have in that picture overlooking the 2 barns and all. Must be very relaxing to be out there in the Field..... Raybo |

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. And Raybo is right. Most days, just before dark, you will find me sitting on the back patio, which overlooks the barn and the pastures and just taking it all in. I have bluebirds nesting in a birdhouse I threw up, and the hummingbirds are keeping me busy with their feeder. There's a chipmonk that runs along the wooden fence (I'm keeping an eye on him). And I have dozens of resident birds that sing their hearts out at daybreak and sundown. It is SSSSOOOOOO peaceful here.

What a great looking garden and great looking place to garden. Looks like a nice scene to paint. But a lot to weed. Better start mulching. Just jealous a little bit. Good luck, I think you will really enjoy eating the tomatoes from the field. Let us know how the taste compares to the container grown ones.

Here's the view from the garden and is basically the same one I get from the large picture window in our living room. Also, I talked about the view from the back patio, and a good view of the old barn.

Beautiful big garden, Ted, and an amazing mountain view-which part of TN are you in, if you don't mind me asking?
