seed saving question
I am going to try my hand a saving seed this year. I have collected and started some really good varieties that family, friends, and I really like.
Here is my question. If i pick the tomatoes a little early, and let them ripen on the counter, will the seed still be good to save? I usually dont pick early. It is a long story why i have to this year. I can explain if I need to. Thanks ahead of time. |

You don't have to wait for the fruit to fully ripen to save the seeds. But yes, you can allow the tomatoes to ripen on the counter and then save the seed. You could do a test and allow one fruit to ripen on the vine and save the seeds and another from the same plant allow it to ripen on the counter and save the seeds and do a germination test to see if there is any difference.
