Tomatoes looking good.

Well my tomato patch is looking great. Black Krim and Black from Tula are still going crazy. Rose is catching up to them. Another to watch out for in my garden is Vorlon. One plant is growing quickly and should be as big as Black Krim soon. IS and Spudakee are growing well. Michigan State, Berkly Tye Dye and Earl's Faux are showing promise as well. And of coarse Cowlicks are doing well too. The year of the mater over here.

Wish I could get one right now. Waiting on disability ( and waiting and waiting). We do have a working one here but it is my sisters and she won't let anyone use it. But maybe I can talk her into taking a few when the weather cools down later this week.

Glad to hear your garden is doing well, nonetheless. Was gonna plant some Black Krim, but started too late this season. Black From Tula has been doing very well here too; especially considering we've just had the hottest June since records have been kept. Earl's Faux was sorta slow, but has really, really taken off in the last week.

Yep it is pretty hot here too. My maters are late so no blooms yet. I am truely amazed at the growth on the two blacks. It's as if they are making up for lost time.Hope they turn out good.

Went out briefly to water the dogs and check the garden. The Black Krim plants are blooming!!!! No blooms yet on my other large plants but this is a start.Very happy to see the bright yellow blooms in all that green.Mega blooms at that.

As I said Black Krim is doing well. I now have about 4 baby maters on each of my two plants. The first two to set where from mega blooms and are growing fast. I think these will be the first funky shaped maters this year.Black from Tula is really doing good with several little maters on each plant. Giant Italian Paste should bloom soon.All the rest are growing fast trying to catch up with the rest.

News from Spud Leaf Row:Everything is in bloom with first fruit set on Mariana's Peace.I do have a Cowlick or two there along with Vorlon and Earl's Faux and Spudakee. And the only non spud leaf in the row Cherokee Purple should be setting fruit any day now.

Hi all,

Looks like fully 3/4 of my plants now have fruit set. The rest are in bloom or are about to bloom. Looks like I may have and early big producer in Spudakee. The amount of blooms are amazing and it does have fruit set. So far despite my late start this year I will have loads of tomatoes.

Good news.

Similarly, a younger transplant I bought, Royal Hillbilly, has really exploded with a profusion of flowers & fruitset in the last week. Quite impressive.

Timmah my Royal Hillbillies were very vigorous and productive til they got hit by TSWV and fusarium wilt. They went from beautiful to very sick in about two weeks but still managed to pump out a goodly mess of toms before they died. Their taste didn't overwhelm me but I will give them another try next year.
Make sure you try Black Krim next year. I only planted one and didn't get it set out til late April but it has produced 30 delicious tomatoes but it is about finished now. I plan on setting out another one or two the first week of August and see if it can make before the cold gets here. It was one of my favorite eating tomatoes this year even though the skin will split every time there is a heavy rain.

Kev, will be interested to hear how your Rose turns out. I had one a couple of years ago, but had to give away the plant because of space restrictions and never got any feedback about it.
