But this is Miami. It's not supposed to get that cold here.

The town of Frostproof Florida is going down to 25 degrees tonight. I'd at least get south of okechobee before declaring myself frostproof.

They say it may get to 19 hear in the early morning hours. I have my propane heater going full blast on my plastic wrapped porch and it seems to be keeping the temperature just above 40 on the porch so far tonight. I have a dozen tomatoes in pots and a couple of peppers and some lemons and limes that I am trying to grow through the winter on the porch. It looks like it may work unless temps drop much lower. I have my lettuce under plastic in the garden and hope it will be ok.

Looks like another night of freezing temps for Florida - the citrus crop is in jeopardy.

Whenever you visit my grave,

say to yourselves with regret

but also with happiness in your hearts

at the remembrance of my long happy life with you:

"Here lies one who loved us and whom we loved."

No matter how deep my sleep I shall hear you,

and not all the power of death

can keep my spirit

from wagging a grateful tail.
