Spacing for sprawling?
I am planning on letting some of my plants sprawl. What is the recommended spacing between plants for this?
Thanks. |

6 ft between rows...if they are the same type/variety you can let them run together, but if you don't want to do that, 6' between plants, too (minimum). Some varieties can get even bigger.

Quote:
Rows were 250 ft long, distance between rows was 5 ft to allow early cultivating by the farmer who prepared my field for me as well as early fertilization, and distance between plants in the row was 3-4 ft. The rows would fill in, yes, but it never was a huge problem and when Charlie or his workers didn't have time to help me I'd use my Mantis as a mechanical hoe and carry a bucket of fertilizer and do that by hand. Later in the season I'd spray with liquid seaweed or fish b'c I couldn't get near enough to the plants to get fertilizer near the main stem.

Sprawling? In Arkansas? Best of luck to you, but I think the slugs will get all of them.
