Are you saying that you didn't know about tomatillos and current tomatoes before seeing that video?
That would surprise me b'c both are hundreds of years old, from Mexico originally and are offered at many seed sources. Yes, that video is quite old b'c Amy has a different hairdo. And yes, I've been to Amy's home and gardens many times, but not lately. We used to be very good friends and she'd drive up from her home in Reinbeck to my tomato field each year and take home fruits to get the seeds. We first met back in about 1991 when she subscribed to an international newsletter on heirlooms that Craig L and I used to publish. Her already set out plants froze one year and she contacted me and asked if I had any transplants left. I did, she drove up and I gave her a couple of hundred plants. But the Amy of today is not the Amy I knew back then up to about 10 years ago, for better or worse for both her and for me. You might want to try Sara's Galapagos which is an interspecies stabilized cross that Amy brought back from the islands, sent the fruits to me, I took out the seeds and sowed them that Spring and listed them in the next SSE YEarbook. I've grown quite a few currant varieties and still like tha tone the best, but there are concerns about X pollination with some currents b'c the stigma is above the pollen bearing anthers. As for Cossack Pineapple tasting anything like a pineapple, well, not for me it doesn't. So grow a few tomatatillos if it's salsa you want b'c they aren't for fresh eating. Ground cherries are in a different species and are grown for fresh eating and more, but I don't happen to like the taste of them, some have said it's an acquired taste, maybe so, but I doubt I'll be acquiring it soon.

Thanks Carolyn, i didn't know about any Currants, or Ground cherries , a neighbor of mine has Tomatailos around his yard. They spread to all his gardens, they love them for that green salsa, I have some seeds from him for this year. I see that Amy is now on Martha Stewart's show and website a lot, to bad.I went to her website and found these videos then, I got her book last month and could not finish it.I have gotten, ordered from the library all garden books written for the last 10 years this winter, I will look for those seeds Sarah's Galapagos, thanks for the info. Steve
