Default Hot pepper wax question

I bought some of this to use in this years garden. I read somewhere it would help get rid of squash bugs. (Last year they killed anything that vined!) Now, what I'm reading is that is for insect that eat leaves or aphids and the like. I used lots of sevin last year and it seemed like vitamins for them. Anyone used this product? What kind of results? I would prefer not to chemicals. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any info, help, or suggestions.

Yes, and have read that some may have been stink bugs. From pics on the web I saw, I'd say squash bugs. Some of the pics of squash bugs and stink bugs looked the same. I just want to harvest some squash this year! Thanks

I saw a website that showed squash bugs and squash vine borers as two distinct insects. The former was I think west of the Rockies and the latter, east (roughly). I'm sure both are equal pests.

squash bugs are grey flattened insects, similar looking to what those in the east call stink bugs. Stink bugs in the west are a flightless black beetle that looks completely different.
Squash Vine Borers are a completely different insect.

Thanks for the links and the quick reply! The insects I saw look like the squash bugs, the damage looked like the borers. I could have had both? Entire plants would wilt and die in a matter of days. But there seemed to be millions of them! I read sevin liquid sprayed on the entire plant, and often, paying close attention to the underside of the leaves, was the only way to get rid of them. Last year there wasn't anyone who had any summer squash, even the groceries and the corner vendors. I did have one lady tell me her father (if still alive 100+) captured the live bugs, ground them up, and applied the resulting mess back on the plants. Sounds gross, but anybody think this might work?? Thanks again.
