Transplanting Question
Today I'm transplanting tomato seedlings into bigger containers. Normally I just have one seedling per starter cell. This year I had all kinds of germination issues so I ended up eventually with multiple seedlings in each cell.
I want my end result of transplanting to be only ONE of each variety. Is it better to: 1. Transplant the whole cell blob and just snip off the extra plants at the soil line ? 2. Separate the cell blob and just transplant the best looking plant? Thanks in advance. Stacy |

Hi Stacy. Check out this thread on dense planting (multiple seedlings in one cell):
http://www.tomatoville.com/showthread.php?t=437 I personally would want to pot up at least two of each, in case one (or more) dies or doesn't do well. You could always throw out the extras later, or give them to friends. |

Stacy,
Transplant the whole thing, wait a few days, and then snip off all but the stockiest one. Tormato |
