Tomatoes Praised in Magazine Article
I was in a waiting room earlier this week and saw the cover of an AARP magazine that said, "The Food That Cures (Almost) Everything." The article is short, but glorifies our summer favorite, the tomato.
If anyone is interested, it's the July-Aug issue of AARP, page 24. The article is referred to on the cover, you can't miss it. It says that three or more servings a week are optimal. Here, at Tomatoville, we'd consider that the bare minimum. It's a short article, and you won't see much you didn't already know, but it's a good and fun article. I just wanted to pass the info along. Here is the on-line version. It will change from topic to topic, but the tomato article should be first, and is "1" on the menu. How appropriate. http://www.aarp.org/magazine/ Don Edit PS: I visited my friends in Amish land yesterday, June 14, and they gave me some tomatoes. I had my first true summer tomato today! I have, I believe, 47 plants going now and they are all looking good. I'm probably still a week or two from getting my first ripe one.

Cool, thanks for sharing! I'll go check it out.
And I'm jealous of your first summer tomato. I just need to hang in there a little longer... Taryn |
