Plant I.D.........Early Girl Bush??
Please help me I.D. this plant. This year I lost some plants by overcooking my seedlings during the hardening off period. The shade cloth I was using blew away leaving my seedlings to the full sun the entire day. I had to replace my plants w/ plants purchased from The Natural Gardener in Austin. I purchased 3 Early Girl Bush plants, and one Mr. Stripey. I know for a fact the Mr. Stripey was mis-labeled as it turned out to be an Indian Stripe. Now I am wondering if the E.G Bush was also mis-labeled. The E.G Bush was the first tomato to ripen. In fact I ate my first ripe mater this year on my birthday on April 28th. I have grown E.G Bush for the last three years, and I know from the past it produces lot's of tennis ball sized maters, and once that flush of tomato's are picked the plant is spent...done...finished. This year these ??E.G Bush's?? are still producing tomato's in 100 degree heat. The plants are putting on new lush green leaves, with lot's of healthy flowers, and lot's of new fruit. I have never grown a tomato plant that will flower, and set fruit in this intense heat. We have had 10 strait days of over 100 degrees, and this plant is getting stronger. The first tomato's that I picked looked like the old E.G Bush but they tasted better. The second flush of tomato's are different, They are larger (baseball size), flatter, and fluted. BTW all three plants are doing the same thing. What is this super tomato??
