Last tomato

Just ate another tomato from my garden here in central PA. It was an Old German that I picked on Oct 28th,just before the killer frost. They were very green and I am surprised they are finally ripening up. The taste was actually good compared to what we find in the stores around here this time of year. Will have to plant more of these plants next year.

And nice to hear you're still enjoying a tomato or two from your garden this year. Picked on Oct 28 -> Dec 4 is quite the delta, but sometimes if they made it to that first breaker stage before picking, they usually manage to eventually finish up fairly decently.

Btw, I'm growing some winter tomatoes in my greenhouse this year, but they produce and ripen soooo slowly because the days are so short and there is not much sunlight.

Hey Zark, welcome! You are so lucky to have some tomatoes.

I'm waiting for my indoor tomato plants to set some fruit, and they are budless seedlings!

We still have a few leftovers from the 1000+ lbs. of green tomatoes picked on 10-26, but they are going fast. It's amazing that they have all ripened. They don't taste as good as they did in September, but they still beat store bought!

I've had no success (yet) trying to grow tomatoes indoors over the winter.
