Looks great Tom, my first year too. I can't believe you have one blushing already. Mine are still green but they do get quite a bit of shade where they are. My leaves are the same too, so green and healthy. I've taking cuttings to get a fall crop. Let us know how it tastes!

Bruce -
When I got home today,
I looked at that tomato
and felt a slight breeze
on my cheek ...
Seemed to tell me its ready -
I'll take one more photo
of him on the vine in the
morning and post it
(its really turned over the past day ) ...
Then when I get home ?
I'm thinking "dinner-time" !!!

~ Tom

ps.
I've been planted out since May 4th -
and I live @ the bayshore of NJ -
The climate is really different than
N. New Jersey ~

I would pick that bad boy this afternoon and let it finish up on the counter for another day or two. It could stand to be a little darker and riper -- don't rush it.

Easy for you to say. This time of year it gets hard. Between the pictures and the desire to taste, it gets maddening. I even had to talk myself out of picking a Sungold to soon.

My first BFTs too. I don't think mine are anywhere near ripe. But I'm going to go see anyway.

I'm sure Suze means for taste and not torture. It gets so much easier for me to wait if they're inside instead of on the plant. I'm not sure why.
