I enjoyed the artistically angled beds - interesting to see that not everything has to be square. You have a wonderful gardener's oasis in an urban setting. Are those onions in the very center bed of the first picture? I'll be checking out your website for sure.

I noticed on your site that you used Spruce boards. Did you treat them with anything? I'm working on raised beds for my garden and Iam wondering whether to treat the wood with linseed oil or not.
Thanks! |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VoWJH...5C9A5921497978 Great video series on building raised beds. Unfortunately, those products are not available in Canada. I read somewhere that linseed oil is not as environmentally friendly as most people think. Right now the soil level is only up one board. so it I don't think the entire structure will not rot. It is pretty dry around here so I should get quite a few years out of them. In addition I put the 4 x 4s on the outside to protect them. Hope this helps, Jeff |
