what is this tomato disease
First post on this forum. Found this forum when searching for Raybo's earthtainer related information.
Being a noob gardener, I am watching my plants every day and enjoying every small growth, flowers, fruits etc. And then also noticing weird things (like buds dropping, things on the leaves etc). This one seems like a disease. Yesterday it was not there and today I am seeing many leaves with these yellow/white spots. The attached photo is the most affected leaf. This is more prominent on the early girl tomato and also visible on few leaves of the adjacent pink brandywine .. What is it and how can I treat it? Thanks |

It doesn't look like any kind of disease but more like an old chemical burn or possibly old sun scald that has dried up. The reason I say old to both is that the damage was done a while back and the damaged plant tissue has just dried up. You can clip the damaged leaves off to make the plant look better.

I agree with the previous poster. I have some plants that I sprayed down with soapy water to beat back some mites, and then they got blasted with the sun and they have a few leaves that look like this. The new growth looks and fine and when those damaged leaves get removed or fall off the plant should look OK.

Thanks Bill, George and AprilMayJune. I am hoping its just sun scald (probably caused by me when I sprayed the tree in the afternoon when sun was quite bright).
