Default VGary (Gary Millwood) has Passed Away

Hi All,
I though someone would of posted by now, but my friend, and friend to many many Tomatovillians, passed away last night.
As I wrote on my FB page:
Even though, I only met him a few times, Gary Millwood, meant so much to me. It saddens me greatly to know he passed away last night. He was one of the first people I ever traded seeds with, and we kept our friendship. He was so gracious when my husband and I drove to Cincinnati for the CHOPTAG gathering, and I was lucky to see him again in KY.
He was the epitome of a southern gentleman, and I will miss him dearly.

I saw that hours ago, Remy, and was waiting for you to post it here, since I didn't have personal knowledge of the sad occurrence. Rest in Peace, Gary and thanks to how you enriched many, many lives.

I never met Gary but I admired his passion for Kentucky heirloom tomatoes. My condolences to his family and those who knew him.

I was Facebook friends with Gary as he is mentioned in many Yearbook/tomato listings as introduced by, shared by, or originated by. I will miss Gary as he's in the ultimate garden now.

I too will miss Gary very much. I never met him in person but we exchanged e-mails many times. I know he was quite religious from some of his e-mails and cards and he sent me many wonderful tomato varieties, mostly KY heirlooms.

May he rest in peace.

First met Gary at Tomatoplaoooza[tm] 3 in 2005.
A very gracious individual and extremely generous in sharing his knowledge of tomatoes and love for growing them.
My condolences to his family for their loss.

Here's a link to a photo of those at TP3 in 2005. Gary is the one at the far right wearing the decked out tomato hat!

Yes, he introduced or made available to a wider audience many KY heirlooms. His contribution to seed savers is enormous.

Gary was deeply religious, and very caring. He went to seminary school and worked at a children's home with abused children.
And not that my husband and I were abused, he would often joke that he wanted to adopt us.

Great pic Lee. I never saw the tomato hat. Here's one of him with a tomato seedling that Tomatoaddict (Terry) shared yesterday.

Gary and I swapped seeds many times over the years, although I never got to meet him in person. He will surely be missed in the gardening community. My condolences to his family and friends.
