Default QUESTION...

Do tomatoes continue to get bigger after they get to their ripe color? Kind of a dumb question, but I never really thought about it.

As a Competitive grower of giant tomato's, once the tomato begins to flash color, no matter how slight, the growth of that tomato is finished.

The only thing that would behoove someone like myself to leave it on the vine is to have it's weight increased via any water from the plant.

Since the tomatoes I grow are not for consumption weight gain by water is a actually a good thing for me as opposed to to having a tomato that one would eat being watered down in taste.

This is close to the question I asked somewhere ... just to clarify, is the growth over after the fruit gets its 'glossy' shine?
I have noticed that when in the early, slightly 'hairy' stages, the tomato gains size very quickly, then seems to settle and the growth is more subtle...
