Woody Interiors In Tomatoes?........

I have a couple of friends in different States that have the same problem.
One lives in New Jersey and the other in Maryland.
Both have been gardening for decades and plant the same tomatoes every year and also try some new ones.
Their plants all looked great,green and leafy.
All tomatoes,except the cherry and roma sized ones,had very woody INSIDES.Not all the way thru but about 3/4 of the way.
They did complain of more rain than usual.
I've asked for pics but have not got them yet.
They both described identical problems.
Anyone know what this is or had the same problem?

I think it must be related to the weather and potassium levels.

I once had it and mine was related to low potassium.
