Youngest graft?
A few days ago, in tranplanting a seedling for my indoor growing, I broke off this Sophies Choice completely in two. Because this is the only SC, I just Scotch tape the two parts together. It's been four or five days, it shows no sign of wilting, as a matter of fact, a new leaf is coming up. I am afraid to take away the tape to find out what's going on.

dcarch -
Do you have a green house ? Or a grow room in your house with lights ? I'd leave the tape a while longer ... Then if you replant - plant deeper than at that union. It'll send out roots all along the stem ; no worries ! ~ Tom

Tom,
I don't have a greenhouse. Curiousity got to me. I took the tape off. It appears that the two parts have indeed grafted together! dcarch

You need to kill that thing before it gets away.

Wow! Cool!
You must have been pretty prompt getting the two ends back together. Was it hard to get the ends together and apply the tape without the ends coming apart again?
