Default Does anyone like Jagodka?

My Jagodka is doing very well, but so far I haven't been able to taste it when fully ripe. Hubby ate the first tomato with his lunch one day when I was out. Then we had a salad, and ate some that were not quite ripe. Today I broke down and had some with a piece of quiche (another day would have probably have been enough to ripen them). Patience would be SUCH a virtue .

I think the taste is good, but they seem a bit crunchy to me . Hoping that they won't be, if I ever get to taste a ripe one!

Linda, I grew one indoors this late winter. Super early to fruit, but the first fruits were mealy and overall the fruit was very sour. The yield wasn't good because the plant got grey mold on the stems and all, constant early blight on the leaves too, very sickly. Not a good grow for indoors, but the fruit quality may be completely different if the plant actually got sunshine. Poor thing is still alive out there in the yard somewhere. (still not much sunshine, however.)

I'm growing more than 100 Jagodka plants this summer. My belief is that even mediocre homegrown tomatoes taste better than anything I can get from the grocery store.

Yep, those little sour fruit were duly appreciated here. I would grow it again for the sheer earliness of it, but not indoors.

Sorry to hear that it's not very sunny in Newfoundland, Bower.

I'm guessing that sunshine DOES make a difference as my Jagodka doesn't taste sour. (Thank goodness because I dislike sour tomatoes like Silvery Fir Tree!)

Mine is growing in a 3 gallon container and has been exposed to lots of sunshine - thank goodness! I move it under cover when it rains!

Joseph, that wasn't exactly a glowing report on flavor, but you must be pretty happy with Jagodka to be growing 100 of them .
