Impressed with Pink Berkeley Tie Dye Flavor!!

What a flavor!! Going to be tough to beat this year but still have many to go.

STRONG flavor that lingers for some time. Always try it plain first, then with salt.....and salt made it better!!!

Read good reviews and had seeds for quite some time but it always got bumped off the list. Not going to happen again.

Will say that it will be back next year for sure

It went 3-3 with the 3 of us that tried it so far!! lol

Excellent report Greg. I've tried BTD before, which I recall as being a good flavored tomato, but not remarkable. Your PBTD review has got me considering to put that one on the list....

It's the ONLY striped tomato that I like, having "very good" flavor, but not "excellent" (or above that "superb").

I have been growing and enjoying it for years. It is almost always very productive. Another big plus is that it is a great fall tomato because it will ripen in cooler weather better than most and still maintain good flavor. Its biggest drawback is its susceptibility to Gray Mold.

I grew BTDP 2 years ago along side BTD. While both were very productive for me, I really enjoyed the flavor of the pink better. This year it's growing again, and early compared to many of my others so I've got a few little tomatoes on it doing really well. Can't wait to pick one!

I'm growing PBTD for the first time this year... it's been a bad spring but this tomato was on the late side to set fruit cw others... BUT, once it started, it is very serious about setting up some fruit and getting right down to business..

Must admit, I am looking forward to taste it too.

Not near ready for a taste test, but here's my litter of PBTD.

These were planted out before mid-May.
I don't know enough about tomatoes to decide if this a heavy set, but it seems to be setting more and bigger fruit than , Black Krim, Mortgage Lifter, and Cherokee Purples.
