I broke my ankle!
Two weekends ago I was stepping up into our one large (12' x 12') raised bed and fell. I messed up the ligaments and fractured my ankle right at the joint. I'm not sure how it happened, I've stepped up there bazillions of times! This is making everything extra challenging, and the worst part is I can't drive! In my garden everything is in raised beds, most are 4' x 4'. It's still too early to be walking much on it, so DH is out there watering for me every morning (bless him!) I hobble around in the late afternoon looking around as best I can before I have to go sit down again, and it's making it hard to keep up with everything. I've got a LOT of dwarves growing for the Dwarf Tomato Project and I'm not able to watch them as closely as I would like... It will get better, but it looks like my entire July will be in this stupid cast. Sigh.

Hope your ankle heals quickly. What an awful time of year to have mobility issues.

Oh Robin! I am so sorry that happened to you. I was just thinking of you an hour ago while I came across some of your seeds from Tormato's swap. I hope you heal quickly. Your hubby sounds like a keeper.

Ouch- so sorry to hear this, Robin! Hope you heal enough soon to get your life back to normal. I've been thinking of you lately as Amethyst Cream has been providing sweet and very pretty daily snacks for about a week now. Get well soon!

Robin, I am so sorry to hear that, and I hope that you'll heal super fast. Such a bad time of the season to be in a cast...

My girlfriend works in orthopedics. People always seem to hurt themselves in the silliest little ways. Tripping over throw rugs and dogs are two very common ways injuries occur.
Sorry about your injury. Listen to your doc, follow the advice, and then make sure to complete any physical therapy they recommend after the cast is off. That's the way to get better the fastest. |
