Honey Giant tomato, any info?

I just ordered seeds from Double Helix, as well as Tatiana's. One of the varieties I bought, cause Caroline's name is mentioned,

is Honey Giant. Just wondering if anyone is familiar with this one, Caroline? If you aren't too busy watching the Rogers Cup? Are you watching the Roger's Cup? I know you love your tennis!

Probably information you don't want. I purchased seeds for this one from Double Helix. It got a coveted spot in my SIPs at home on the driveway. It grew well enough. Still not one tomato of any size on it. I don't know if I will get one before the end of the season.

Sharon, I did get some ripe tomatoes in the mid-Atlantic area. I grew this variety
for friends who love bi-color or yellow tomatoes so we didn't even taste them.
I had different shapes, a few like a blunt heart and a few beefsteak shapes.
One picked last night was a large beauty-it looked just like a Virginia Sweets.
I'm not going to be getting as many as I get from red/pink/black varieties probably. Sorry, I can't comment on the taste. Got seeds from DH also. Darlene

I was still offering it my last seed offer here and yes, I did send it to Steve, Double Helix.

But I didn't have Freda grow it here at home for me and would have to try and find the data book where the person doing the seed production possibly made some comments.

Yes Sharon, I am watching the Roger's Cup in Canada when I can, but the high point of this day was finally getting someone here to find out what was making so much noise in the stove pipes of my woodstove, which I last used in 1999.

Freda was here this AM and dismantled the pipes but couldnt see anything. Possible perps were birds or the chipmunk that my cat brought in last week.When the chimney guys got here around noon Bill had dismantled the pipes as well, and said there it is, staring at me, so they went into capture mode, the squirrel at first eluded them and sprang out into the room. They opened my sliding door and out in ran, thank heavens.

And then did some other cleaning.

Too much activity for me at one time,

so I'm going to take a nap and watch some tennis later, after I just checked who was playing this afternoon/

Enjoy tennis, and it hope those critters stay out of your way! Oh well, not hearing positive results about it so maybe it won't be on next years grow list. I'm definitely trying Little Lucky and purple bumble bee which I got from Tania and Orange-1.

I've grown all three of those but have some reservations about Orange-1,my seeds from Andrey in Belarus.
Let me take a look at tania's page for it and then if needed the possible listings for it in my SSE Yearbooks.

3/4 mentioning taste say good flavor,which isn;t very high on the adjective lists that most of my tomato friends use,and I would rate the taste as good,average,but nothing higher,

Thanks Caroline. Well the good news is that I have ordered a lot of seeds and have room for only so many, so I will decide which ones to grow at a later date! I was somewhat hesitant about Honey Giant as I couldn't find much on it but took a chance. Anyways, this year has been a frustrating year for me. My tomatoes seem to be taking forever and Red Penna went down to what I think was EB or tomato pith necrosis. Not sure what happened there.
As far as tennis goes, too bad Eugenie lost! And I hope you get your wood stove worked out!
