indigo blueberries vs. dancing with smurfs?

Has anyone grown both, and/or taste-tested each one side by side? I am all about big flavor and not sure which of the two to grow this year with that in mind-- don't have enough space to grow both!

I trialed the smurfs for two growths,got production but could not entice the sweetness since the wife and I are spoiled with the other high brix cherrys availiable.From what I gather the "blues"have a a way to go to get the taste up there.But I hear there are some promising lines from Tom Wagner and his breeding programs.Tom Wagner is a member and moderator here.

Dances with Smurfs was sweetish for me only when dead ripe. The only blue that I like (so far) is Amethyst Cream. Sweet and yummy! I have grown Blue Berries (Blue Boar Berries) and liked it, although the fruit was really small, like the size of a currant tomato.

I liked Dancing with Smurfs. Flavor is not bad; it tastes like a typical red cherry. It's not knockout sweet like Sungold, but it tastes a lot better than the original OSU blue. Picking them is the challenging part. The top is always black, but the underside is what turns from green to red. I have to stick my head under the plant and look up. It's awkward.

I'm trying Indigo Blueberries and Helsing ★★★★★★★★ Blues this year as well, so maybe I will have a favorite after this year.

If you think its hard to tell when dancing with smurfs is ripe good luck with helsing ★★★★★★★★ blues

. The whole cherry is practically black! I did however like better than most blues in my garden last year.

I hope to have Dancing With The Smurfs stable this year. It is THE best-tasting of all the antho' lines in my opinion. This selection of mine is unique to lower Michigan. I have done everything myself. I had no help from people living in Southern States. I may enter it in our annual Tomato Taste-Off this September. I am not going to release it, or send seed back to Tom, until I have it perfect.
