Default Your best tasting Dwarf

I have never grown a Dwarf variety tomato. I was thinking of including one this year, but have no idea where to start. I love either sweet or strong old fashioned tomato flavor, anything but bland. In your opinion do any of this type hold up next to heirlooms like Brandywine Sudduth, Estler's ML, Cherokee Purple, Kellogg's Breakfast or many of the heart varieities as far as taste goes?

I am trying some new-to-me ones this year but the best tasting one I have grown to date is "new big dwarf". It produced large oblate dark pink beefsteaks with great flavour. It was a bit on the later side but worth the wait.

My favorite tomato for flavor, dwarf or otherwise, was New Big Dwarf. However, it is determinate and I only got about a dozen tomatoes total from it, but boy were those 12 tomatoes good!

Yes, quite a few "hold up" and even exceed the taste of heirlooms. Dwarf Emerald Giant, Summertime Gold, and Dwarf Rosella Purple are all excellent varieties in terms of taste and productivity.

Fred's Tie Dye was/ is outstanding. Still producing large boat shaped striped purple beefsteaks with oh so scrumptious flavor. Probably going to plant 2 next year. Also has an excellent shelf life.

I love Tasmanian Chocolate and Rosella Purple. I'm also trying a bunch of the newly released varieties this year.

I grew Tasmanian Chocolate and Summertime Gold last year. I liked them both a lot. Tasmanian Chocolate is the best-tasting container tomato I have ever grown.

I liked Arctic Rose, and I think New Big Dwarf is excellent

OK, in my seeds from the seed exchange I found 3 of the ones listed here, New Big Dwarf, Dwarf Summertime Gold, and Tasmanian Chocolate. I may try for one pot of each. I was hoping to find a Dwarf Rosella Purple in there too, but 3/4 isn't bad.

I got only one of both the Crimson and the Purple Rosella out of 5 seeds sown to germinate. Same with Chocolate Lightning. The other dwarfs I started faired much much better in terms of successful germination.

Heirloomtomatoguy, thanks, that would be awesome.

Does anyone know if these tend to be early, mid or late varieties?

Check out the released varieties list from the Dwarf Tomato Project. It has approximate DTMs in the listings.
