Why so much grief over a grow light?
So I ordered a new grow light... apparently when Fed-ex arrived today to deliver the package I was not home so they did not leave it at the door like is done with just about every other package. After looking at the delivery attempt notice, not only is a signature required, they need verification that I am over 21 to accept the delivery???
WTF? I live in PA - even if I were going to grow weed with it, it would not matter if I were over or under 21 ... it would be illegal. I don't get it. I think that Fed-ex does Saturday delivery to residences, so I should be home to receive it, but I am certainly not going to take a day off work to be at home. Has anyone had a similar issue? Its assigned by the sender, the request for signature I believe.
I don't have any of these issues as all I need are cheap T8s and fluorescents that I get from Home Depot.

Quote:
I understand the signature for delivery confirmation (which is checked off) is choice of shipper to confirm, but also checked is the 'someone over 21' requirement. |

I don't think they really check? I sign for UPS stuff regularly and less Fedex stuff? Since I don't know specificaly about Fedex I'll stop talking about it now.

You are on some govt list as a possible marijuana grower. I would keep an eye out for federal agents ruffling thru you trash.

I would call/check the conditions of shipping/ordering from original vendor,at the same time I would call Fed Ex and say what the hay! If they do not have any of the conditions you mentioned then I would be worried about a third party.

Fed-ex came and delivered today and yes, it was marked as signature required and adult over 21. I still think it is odd, but anyhow, I have it at least.

I don't like mail orders.
I got mine (twin 48" -T8s) from HD. With the bulbs each unit cost me about 20 bucks. The only gardening related mail order I have done this year was seeds from Sample Seeds Shop. I rather pay a few bucks more and visually see what I am getting. And if not happy, I just return it and get my money back right away. Gardeneer |
