Looking for 'New to me' Cherry Tomatoes
Hi guys- I love growing cherry tomatoes because they go crazy in our heat and my kids love them. They particularly love the Beam's Yellow Pear and go for them first over any other because of the taste, color, and fun shape. I have grown Cherry Romas, Matts Wild Cherry, Coyote, Black Cherry, Chocolate Cherry, Sungold F1, and Super Sweet 100's. Does anyone have any recommendations for a cherry tomato that is not listed above? Thanks so much!!

In no particular order, Sara's Galapagos, Blush, Tommy Toe Red, Tommy Toe Yellow, Hawaiian Cherry, Galinas, Brown Berry, Black Cherry, Mini Rose, Krajova, and Chello are some I've grown that stand out for tasting good.

Green Zebra Cherry Casino Chips And if something BAD happens to those two, which can happen, my backups would be: Galina's Chadwick's Cherry And if the backups didn't work out maybe Verde Claro Iva's Red Berry I think you get the picture. Carolyn

Thanks Tracy
I found it hard to believe that Carbon Copy was not a favorite of anyone I still predict it will be the next SunGold and BlackCherry challenger for number one wanted cherry tomato. I am definitely sold on it however I might be a little prejudiced. ron |

I'm not a huge fan of cherries, so just three or four plants are enough for me. I like to do one of each color, and by process of elimination, I have settled on:
Sungold Hyb - orange Snow White - yellow/white Black Cherry - purple/black I'm still searching for the best red to add to the group, maybe Iva's Red Berry this season will do it. Have not liked any bicolors or greens well enough to knock any of the big three out of the line up. I should mention I prefer interesting flavors to simple sweetness in a tomato.

Just a few...
Riesentraube Snow White Black Cherry Because of everything I've read here at Tomatoville about these 3 varieties. I have not tasted any of them. It's my first year to grow them. |

My favorite and the the only one I grow these days is Gajo de Melon. It is extremely productive, even for a cherry. Very pretty, very tasty sweet little fruits that have a very long counter time. Skin is a little thick than some cherries but not so thick as to be off putting.
