Way to much rain

Starting on Sunday we had record amounts of rainfall. Anywhere from 7-11 inches.
Monday around an inch. Right now close to 2 1/2 inches and still falling appears to be a lot of rain thru the evening. We can expect high probabilities thru Sunday

I hear ya Gregory. We getting it up here above you too. This is 5 days of rain, and looks like we have it still everyday til next Monday, maybe til Tuesday.

I'm wondering how much our tomatoes and peppers can take til we start having fungal problems.

It's been cloudy here with the rains and hot and humid already. My foliage has been able to dry at least, but the pots are soaked. I'm sure they are not liking having wet feet.

Right now it is just too wet with rain coming in too often to even think of applying any fungicide. I did try only to have it washed off before it could even dry on the leaves. I'm hoping we will get a day or two with less frequent rain soon because if we don't then the foliage diseases will fire up with a vengeance.

I know the situation where you are at is bad. Saw on the telly all the dried up areas and about all the restrictions and folks conserving and recycling water every which way they can.

You would think with the ocean there, they could filter it somehow so you could use for at least other things than drinking and cooking with.

I went and got me a roll of 4ml 20 x 20 piece of plastic. In between the rains I am going to take my tents and put the frames over my plants and toss the plastic over it and use some clamps to hold it in place. I am hoping that will help some.

Also I have some 8 foot aluminum fence poles. I'll dig two into the ground two feet deep and two about a foot deep. I'll put plastic over each corner and fold it so it makes it a thick section at that end and than put one of them metal rings that goes over the top of the poles that has a hole in it to run a top fence pipe.

This is the first year ever for me that I am having to consider fungal diseases. Usually we have all rain and flooding in my area in Feb and March with just a few April showers.

The thing is I have never used a product like Daconil, which I think is the fungicide that I see everybody posting about. I've never had to consider possible major fungal problems before. So I am kinda of at a loss as to all what to do.

I just got soaked again. I was out trying to put up a rack for a second tomato bed when the bottom fell out. It wasn't even supposed to rain til after lunch. I did notice a little early blight showing on a few of the lower leaves on my in ground tomatoes but that is easily controlled. This kind of wet weather makes me worry more about spot and speck diseases that can be devastating. A one or two day break in the rain would be wonderful right now.

Mine too, I was using de for bugs but no sense in applying it now. Something is eating the leaves on one of my plants.

Here in Northwest Lousiana, I have got 22.8 inches since January first. That's about 8.5 inches above normal for us. I planted out April 4 and it's rained just about every day since. My plants are looking pretty good, but........not sure for how long. Water is standing in the rows. I've got 17 Celebrity plants sitting on the patio waiting to be planted...... way too wet.

Here in the Louisville area... we've had 9 to 10 inches of rain since April 1st... lots of rain forecast over the next seven days too...

I typically plant my garden the 1st weekend in May... but that looks pretty iffy right now. I don't see any way that I can get the garden ready by then unless this crazy rain quits and we get some time to dry out a bit...

As much as I hate to miss my usual planting date... its not really a big deal if it takes me another week or two to get better weather conditions...

Yeah please send some to AZ too. Such a dry winter we had and now we are going into a hot summer... CA definitely needs some rain.

Same here. I'm hoping that since I did lasagna style beds with leaf mulch/straw on top it will keep any fungal issues away...but that is likely wishful thinking. It has been so wet here the past few years and before that we were in a 4 year drought. Feast or famine it seems. I'm starting to think high tunnel growing may be a worth the investment.

Same here. Coastal rain showers every day. Haven't even tried fungicide this year yet... too wet. Our rainy season is June/July but we are getting summer type rain storms early this year.
