How long is Actinovate good for once mixed?
Folks, I mixed up some Actinovate to use as a foliar spray this morning, and I have quite a bit left over. Can I keep it in my sprayer and use it next week? How long is it good to use once mixed?

I am going to say no to that. In fact, don't get in the habit of leaving anything in the sprayer.
Use the extra as a root drench. |

I agree with James, you shouldn't leave anything in a sprayer. Actinovate contains spores of the aerobic bacteria Streptomyces Lydicus WYEC 108. Once the spores are activated in water they will eventually die once the oxygen and food runs out. Drench the root zone with the leftover mix. They naturally live in the soil around plant roots where they protect the plant from fungal root pathogens and also produce plant growth promoting compounds.

I went ahead and finished spraying it out on the rest of my tomatoes this morning. As I only mixed it up yesterday, I hope it was still effective this morning.

You're probably good for about 48 hours once mixed, but that is about it. Certain organisms can be kept alive by adding organics ('green water', etc) to the mix to extend the shelf life, but the organics added to keep the orgamisms alive might very well promote other molds or fungus. You might as well mix, spray and then dump the remaining contents around the roots.

So glad you asked this. Just got some actinovate and some mycos in the mail to use on the rest of my transplant. Planning to spray and drench what I already planted.
