Default The EarthTainer "Farm" At Plant-out + 2 Months, June 4

Things are progressing well. Wonderful cooler May / early June than in past years. Plants are loving it:

Picked my first BTD Pink today:

The Brandyboy is over 68" tall:

And the Momotaro Fight is doing quite well:

I am amazed at the girth of its stalks:

The DIVA and Sweet Success are looking fine:

And are flowering/setting fruit:

The NuMex Heritage 6-4 Peppers and a second planting of Sweet Success in EarthBoxes are starting to take off:

So far, no bugs or fungal problems "Clean-'n-Green" .... this typically hits me in late June / early July.

Needless to say, I am a "Happy Camper" at the moment:

Thanks all for your words of encouragement!

MissS,

Water rationing / penalties start on June 15. Will have to shut down a couple of the EarthTainers shortly after that. Front yard grass will go first, then backyard next. Keeping a dozen of my best 'Tainers fed is my highest priority. Already down to weekly showers, dinner on paper plates, drinking directly from the beer bottle, etc.

Wow, Ray! Everything looks lush as usual. That BTDP looks fabulous. I am trying them for the first time this year as well (also in an earthtainer). I hope mine turn out as nice as yours. Cheers!

Incredible Ray! Just gorgeous plants. Pink Berkeley Tie Dye is one of my favorites... :-) Yummy.

Hi Raybo,

Everything looks great! "Clean-'n-Green" is good ! I'm having a similar year in my garden - a very refreshing change of pace (at least in my case). - We've been so lucky with the weather (so far!). I think you've still got some nice weather ahead, but here in the valley we're looking at temps hitting 100 in a few days.

I hadn't heard about the water restrictions going into effect on June 15. I'll have to have to check out what's going on in our area. We're not doing paper plates yet, but have been conserving in the other ways you mention. Hopefully we'll both be able to conserve enough in other areas to at least keep some of our plants going through the summer.

Nice work Ray! How's the temps in your area? We are starting to go in to the 90's this week. Might be time for us to start using shade cloth.

We have been having relatively cool weather the past 5 weeks. That is all about to change tomorrow when Los Gatos will be in the upper 80s with Monday hitting 94.

Will put up the Coolaroo shade canopy over the tomatoes approx. June 25.

Any new pictures of ripe tomatoes?
The BTDP looked great. I am growing second year in a row BTD Heart. Very nice too.

Ella,

I am averaging about 1 per day, until the "flood" hits in mid-July:

Momotaro left, BTD Pink right

A Goose Creek hiding in the leaves:

Brandy Boy over the top of its 80" cage:

Life is Good......
