PSR-37 Early Girl O.P
Does anyone have or know where I could get some of PSR-37 the open pollinated version of Early Girl developed by Tim Peters of Peters seed & research ? Also are there any other o.p versions of Early Girl out there ?

I just tried searching for it, but no luck, since it WAS separate from my annual seed offer. And in that thread there was lots of information about the fact that Early Girl F1 was developed in France, Burpeee was given an exclusive I think for 3 years and persons saying that b'c when they grew out PSR-37 some got PLplants that were presumably in the parentage of Early Girl F1 and came through in Tim's PSR-37. There was also a link to idig where Travis (here at Tville) nee Papa Vic at idig had shown many pictures of what he grew and I remember now that you were at idig yourself at that time. Maybe it was the idig link that went into all the history that was posted within my offer here/ I may still have some of those seeds that you sent me, but no time right now to go hunting, so in the meantime why not ask for seeds in the WANTED seed subforum here, and if nothing then I'd do some searching. Carolyn

The idig thread you mentioned that had some history on PSR-37 is just an open Heirloom Gardening thread so http://www.idigmygarden.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=30530 |

So, Carolyn, in post #3 we have a link to the April, 2010 PSR-37 discussion at idig
In post #4 a link to your May, 2010 PSR-37 seed offer. And in this post a link to the General Discussion thread to which the continuation of PSR-37 discussion from your seed offer thread was moved March 9-10 of 2011 http://www.tomatoville.com/showthread.php?t=17430 Pretty good overall discussion. |

I thank JLJ for finding this offer that I made here for PSR-37.
http://www.tomatoville.com/showthread.php?t=14401 Read it and I hope you enjoy it but note that this is NOT a seed offer for anyone. Carolyn

If I am not mistaken, just a few short years ago, Silverseeds posted a photograph of what looked like several ounces of PSR-37 tomato seeds that Peters sent him, after which Silverseeds made a seed offer of some sort.
Maybe someone to whom Silverseeds sent out PSR-37 seeds has some to return. And since there he had what looked like several ounces of seed, maybe there are still some languishing somewhere ... one would think. |

Silverseed is a long time SSE member from OH and reminded me that we had talked on the phone and also reminded me of at least one variety he had introduced to SSE. And said if I found the seeds that he'd really like to have them for 2016. In reviewing the one link that was posted above there were lots of folks who got that seed from me but it was noted that it was probably contaminated with the variety Native Sun, but if anyone who got the right PSR seeds still has some, please speak up or forever hold you peace, since if not I'll have to try to get someone here at home to help me search and it won't be until I get my seed offerup, andprobably not until the US tennis Open in NYCity is over, and that starts inlate Aug for two weeks/ Please post here in this thread you have some rather than PMing me. Forgive me for my few obsessions, one being tennis watching. Silverseed, if you are reading here thanks so much for PMing me and sharing with me that you are NOT Silverseeds ( plural). Carolyn

Just thought I'd mention, in case those searching for PSR-37 haven't found it, that sandhillpreservation dot com has it in their 2017 listings
"PSR-37: Mid-season, Indeterminate, Potato Leaf, exceptionally high yields of 6 to 8 oz. round, red globe fruits. Pkt. $2.00 Certified Organic Seed" Also, possibly useful info PSR-37 setting like crazy! http://www.tomatoville.com/showthread.php?t=32625 Great pics but RL Note that in post #8 of http://www.tomatoville.com/showthread.php?t=17430 travis says that the original info on PSR-37 identified it as PL Early Girl "Improved" http://www.tomatoville.com/showthread.php?t=15969 Has info on PSR-37 as well as Early Girl plus a link to some Early Girl history in post #4 Not suggesting that anyone does or should want PSR-37, just that if it is wanted, looks as if Sand Hill is a good place to get seed. I'm inclined to think it would be interesting to compare next time a "give Early Girl another chance" mood strikes, but don't know if that will be this season or next or never. |

Also did any of you know that when testing new varieties for Early Blight, A solani, that Early Girl was used as the positive control? I kid you not. Carolyn
