Today's haul
I have NEVER had year like this year. This is just some what I picked today, the ripest ones. I could have picked almost that many more. The neighbors are starting to run when they see me coming....
I've made BLTs, panzanella, brushchetta, sauce, on my 2nd batch of sun-dried - wow, what a bounty! (doesn't count the ones I gave away so far, and the completely covered kitchen island)

Well done. I get a year similar about one in ten. It is quite a thrill.

I am enjoying them, but am practically getting overwhelmed. I'm picking more that many every 1 - 1 1/2 days. I'm sure it will slow down some, but wow.
So strange, we had completely rainy June and July, I thought it would be a bad year. Go figure.

Gorgeous. How's the flavor after all the rain you've had?

Looks like a real nice haul Tracy. Sounds like you have been making quite a few tomato yummies. Mmmm..

Wow, Impressive bunch of tomatoes and great picture. The baskets are a nice touch. I had an issue with fruit set on the early flowers with all the rain we had. Looks like yours didn't mind the it at all!

Flavor is great. We had tons of rain until August (then no rain sigh). I was surprised, but did not have any problem with fruit set - actually I had outstanding fruit set, huge clusters of tomatoes on most plants.
I like those baskets for picking, they hold lots! But I guess they are nice for photos too

Lovely lovely results!
I too had issue with blossom drop this year, first year ever to see it. Was not prepared too... but had more than decent harvest anyway. Most of it is over thankfully/I do WOW thus earlier harvest/, as I canned up a storm and have enough mess in the house. |

Thanks. I have canned tomatoes before, but honestly, I don't think they're that much better to justify the work. Plus these aren't really ideal canning tomatoes. Been making some great sauce though!

Oh I agree it isn't hard, I have done it before. I just wasn't in love with the results enough to justify it. But I do make the oven roasted sauce, that is lovely.
