Default Whats wrong with my pea plants - wilting

These plants are in new potting mix.they are not too wet or too dry as randomly a plant will start wilting and the other plants in the same container are fine. Then it goes downhill real quick.

Pictured below is a healty plant and then one starting to wilt. I pull the wilters. These two are in the same container

Thanks
Ginny

I saw that link too. Its possible but brand new potting mix. Still possible. Maybe the plants were diseased when i got them. I haven't examined the roots that close because i just found thatlink earlier today.

Thanks

Looking at the seedling next to the "peas" marker in the photo on that page . . . .

Could it be the warm weather?
Too much water?
Peas where I live start croaking when it gets in the 70' and 80's.
Looks like you may be having the same pepper problem I had though.
But on peas.

Worth,

I thought of your peppers too. Did any of the plants live?

Its not too much water. Maybe temps...

I just walked in the door I got tired of getting tangled up in pepper cages in the dark.

Yes two jalapenos lived but I just about bet I pull them up tomorrow to make room for onions.
One is around 4 feet tall.

I think it is the heat. Mine were doing well and then 80-90 degree heat hit and they look awful. Mine won't make it for sure.

Ok, I agree and I think it is probably the heat too. There are some that are partially shaded by other plants and those are showing no signs of any of the plants dying or wilting (at least so far). The ones that get direct afternoon sun are the ones that are having some problems. The only thing with that is that I would have expected all of the ones in the direct sun to wilt at the same time rather than one a few days ago, then another, etc. And also the linked page above mentions if watering doesn't help the wilt then it's a sign of disease. Hmmmm.

I'm not panicking about the peas like I would if it was the tomato plants because the peas were just something for fun to hopefully grow up the trellis.

Thanks for all the input. If I find out more I will post an update.

Thanks you again!
