Gold flakes in seed starting mix
Anyone here find this before?
No wonder these mixes are so expensive. |

That's vermiculite. It looks shinier in potting soil cause it's crushed into thin plates and wet.

Those gold flakes are vermiculite.

It can also look like a piece of glass when dry and glinting in the sun. I've picked up my share of pieces over the years. Only to find myself chuckling at the fact it once again fooled me.

On the medical marijuana growing sites, the moderators come behind these photos and blur the fingerprints.

Now, I've done some gold mining and if I only had that picture above to go on, I'd have my pan going in a heartbeat. Gold is 19 times heavier than water, and it wouldn't take but one pan full to find the truth.

They are all just envious and trying to tease you. YOU HAVE FOUND GOLD! Get out your tweezers and collect each piece that you can find in that bag. Then run to the bank to cash it in.

Haha, then I could quit my hand modeling job. The work in the yard the past three days really took its toll on my hands as you can see
