Mater Plants Coated with Mud

Hey All,
Looking to get a few opinions on what's the best option for cleaning mud caked tomato plants. We had severe storms that saturated the ground and a couple of plants toppled over and are caked in mud. Now that the storms have passed & they are tied would the plants be ok if I just spray with water (in the early morning before the blazing heat hits) so not to scald the plants? I heard wetting plants can lead to onset of disease, Any other suggestions?

First, support them (stakes, cages ..
Second : MULCH
Third use a gentle shower head an rinse them after the sun goes down.'
Fourth : fungicide (the next day when the leaves are dry)

Thanks Gardeneer,

The fungicide is on standby, stakes are in and the straw bales are slowly drying out now. We've been getting hammered pretty good for the last week with torrential rain.
