Kodiak Brown - soon to be available

Here's one of the new ones I'll soon make available.

Kodiak Brown is from the same lineage as Kenai Mondo Green. Parents were Galinas and Black Krim. This one is obviously early and will load up a lot of fruit on a medium sized plant. Regular Leafed and Indeterminate, I grew this one last year in a container. If you liked the dwarf "Sleeping Lady", then you'll like the taste of this one as well. Great taste and prolific might be the best way to describe.

Reviving this thread to say that I'm growing Kodiak Brown this year and looking forward to it! Is the flavor anything like Tasmanian Chocolate or Black Pear? I haven't grown Sleeping Lady...

This is not a dwarf. It Is a compact plant and will keep setting truss after truss of fruits until frost kills the plant. I rated the taste at 8.5 and it does have a "Cherokee Purple" kind of full flavor with a nice touch of sweetness. It holds well on the counter and is at the best flavor when fully ripe. So, you don't have to be too quick about taking them off the vine.

Let me know how you like them. I feel like they are a classic.

I am totally trying these out this year. Hoping the Galinas' characteristics will give it the earliness I need.

Thanks, Ted! I've grown Cherokee Purple several times and loved it. This year I'm trying out a bunch of brown varieties as well as smaller tomatoes of various colors. Kodiak Brown ticks both boxes!

Quite a few cracked, but it was a really rainy summer here. Flavor was good; probably would have been even better with less rain... I liked it enough to give it another try next year!
