Cherry Abundance...
It is so lovely to see hard work to pay off.
Visited my parents today again and saw how they were staggering under the load of cherry tomatoes: Gold Nugget and Koralik are really in full swing! (the local birds have realized that are are busy too... still, we humans have a wonderful crop!) Very nice to have more to eat than one or two at a time. My main cherry season is behind me (that was Red Robin and Pearly Pink Orange, both soon finished), and another is just to begin (Amethyst Cream cherry, Purple bumblebee), so in the meantime, Gold Nugget and Koralik are very valuable. Both have rampant growth and are heavy with fruits, Koralik has lots of vigor and sometimes 20 in the same truss... (some sources say it's a hybrid, others call it OP.. either way, vigor is vigor) Mom loved Golden Nugget and wants to have two of them planted next summer. Koralik is nice too, but I wonder if Maskotka, another Polish cherry, would taste better and sweeter...? Just curious, not disliking Koralik at all. I had seeds for both but no space, so next year, I may give Maskotka a go... |
