Interesting bit on sister forum
There was an interesting bit on Tomatoville's sister forum idigmygarden
Do you know what the "Princess Bride" film teaches us about working with old seeds? http://www.idigmygarden.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=57892 Seriously, there isn't a lot of activity over there these days, but there's an incredible amount of good material in old threads from its more active days -- and a little bit of current activity. |

Yes,there are many old threads there, true, but most just don't bother to do searches, which is sad,and if Mischka had not won the bid when Jere Gettle put the domain up for auction, IMO that would have been the end of idig. I was at idig for many years and it was getting awful with infighting, direct attacks on others etc. So thank heavens it' s more peaceful these days,as several have noted. Just as a sidenote, many here at TV ask questions without doing a search,so I end up doing many searches for them. It's my hope that next year I can write a sticky that will hopefully help folks not only do searches here, but also at other places. We shall see how that works out. I think it would be good to have a sticky on how to do a search but I don't think folks should be discouraged from asking questions in the process. It is the interaction and sharing that make this forum active and I would hate to see it die out such as other sites have. I think there are very few tomato questions that have not been answered here in some thread or another but it is often difficult to sift through threads especially ones that get sidetracked which is often the case

To me the essence of coming to a forum ( any forum ) is to have an interactive , person to person exchange of information and have conversation. Otherwise most everybody knows how Google, on just about any subject. The information on the internet is overwhelming . But at times it can be confusing too. So we come here to get different views all in one place and sort them out for ourselves. JMO

I gave a lot of thought as to what I wanted to say in answer to your original post. When I have the time perhaps I will come back and make some comments. Carolyn

JLJ, I love it! I thought about watching that movie because of the famous"you killed my father. Prepare to die" quote but it didn't seem like my kind of movie. Maybe I was wrong. ☺
