Stringless snap peas?
Hi all,
I'm growing Sugar Ann snap peas. They're good, but a few flaws: they are stringy, and inconsistent in taste: some are sweet, others not. So is there a stringless and more uniformly sweet snap pea? Short vines like Sugar Ann would be a plus. TIA Nan |

Can't speak from personal experience but West Coast Seeds notes Sugar Daddy as uniquely stringless

We've trialed a lot of sugar snap peas, including Sugar Ann and Sugar Daddy, and we dislike strings a lot, too. Our latest fave is Cascadia- before that, Sugar Lace II and Sugar Sprint were the winners.

Well, Pinetree says Sugar Sprint is as near to stringless as any snap pea; Park claims Sugar Pod II is stringless; can't find any official claims w/regard to strings on Cascadia. So no guarantees, really. I'm thoroughly into English peas- sugar pods and snow peas, not so much. We're pretty careful to harvest as soon as they seem ready and haven't been bothered by whatever strings these varieties might have- ymmv.

I love Cascadia but it is not stringless. I de-string as I pick them off the vine. Sugar Daddy has always been my favorite stringless.
