Cherry Tomatoes for growers
I would like to know what cherry tomatoes are being grown for market, with the best success, by farmers.
I am not interested in the cherry tomato with the best flavor (when perfect), or texture or the coolest colors. I AM interested in the cherry tomato varieties that represent the best combinations of flavor, color, shelf-life, lack of splitting, production and disease resistance. No variety is perfect, but I am interested in the cherry tomato varieties that generate the best overall value for farmers.

The Sun series has a few winners. SunGarnet, SunChocola and SunPeach are all great. The other colors also perform well but have more tendency to split.
Cherry Bomb, Bartelly and Toronjina also made my list for market growing. Bill |
